Claiming money from Medicare

You could be owed money from Medicare for claims either you or your medical provider made on your behalf. If you haven’t updated your banking details with Medicare, they might hold onto your money until they can confirm your bank details. Medicare has posted about this in 2023 and 2024:

Essentially you need to update/give your banking details on the Medicare website or phone app.

Please be careful of any scam SMS or Emails - this is something you can do yourself and should only do with government websites or apps.
